I am loving the fun of this assignment submission from you. Good lighting and colour that makes me smile. I really want hope to nudge you towards one thing which is to not always have your main subject planted right smack in the middle of the photo. This may sound annoying to hear, I know, I'm not a professional photographer and this is all about having fun most of all - so forgive me. This is one of the first things I learned in photo club, in some circles considered the number one mistake of the beginning photographer. I don't always agree, sometimes it works. I'm just hoping to encourage you to try something different because I love your potential.

Hmm, although there is nothing wrong with this shot, I feel that a slight camera tilt would have added a lot more movement to the scene. In Tab Mode, use Shift+A or Shift+D to swing the camera a little to create different and more interesting angles. You don't have to do it on every photo, but on certain shots, it can create unique lines to draw in the eye. :)
