Custom Animation Tutorial Add Video

This video explains how to create custom animations for Sims 3. I'm by no means an expert, so there may be better ways of doing things. I've never used Milkshape before either so don't know all the tricks yet. I hope some of you will find this useful and have a go at creating your own custom animations.

There are 3 versions of animtool, version 04 version 04a (which I use) and a version which will cope with very long animations, 04L. Try the 04a version or even the 04L first to see if that helps. The animation I made uses 155 frames. I didn't change this from the original. I always set a keyframe at the end too, as I think the game expects this.

@SS I've checked Animtool version and it's the 0.04, idk if there's an updated version X(, btw when I built the first animation I used 30 than 50 than 70 until 230 frames...and I set a keyframe at the beginning (i didn't know it was the same for the end) =(

Thanks ya'll :) I was originally planning a text based tutorial with screenshots until I realized how many pages it would take lol.

Christie - Which proceedure did you use? Did you add more frames to the animation? Becuase of how it works, animation lengths can't be changed as far as I know although I haven't tried to do this myself. Do you always set a keyframe at the start, and one at the end? Did you click on No to appending the animation? And which version of Animtool are you using (there are 3 with various buffer sizes). Hopefully between us we'll figure out a solution :)

great tutorial ^^ I've got a question...I've done an anim of 230 frames, and I converted it on anim tool. The only big trouble is that when I switch from .smd to .clip it says "error max number of keyframe 120", is it possible to export a bigger animation as a .clip? let me know please ^^
